James Orville Turner, age 87 of Mammoth Spring, AR, was born July 10, 1923, in Camp, AR, and passed away June 17, 2011, at the South Fork Nursing Center in Salem, AR. Survivors include: 3 daughters, Janice Johnson and husband Dean of West Plains, MO, Brenda Sparks and friend Chris London of Elizabeth, AR, and Mary Dawson and husband David of Viola, AR; 3 sons, Jerry Turner and wife Kathy of Camp, AR, Wilburn Turner of West Plains, MO, and David Turner of Camp, AR; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Opal (Flynn) Turner; his parents, Jesse Ray and Flora (Lane) Turner; 1 daughter-in-law, Dee Turner; 4 sisters; and 4 brothers. James loved to hunt, was a farmer and worked in construction early in his life, and served in the Army. He was of the Pentacostal faith and was a preacher for many years. Services will be 2pm Monday, June 20, 2011, at the Clary Funeral Home in Mammoth Spring, AR, with Bro. Charles Barnett officiating, and burial in the Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-2pm Monday prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Mammoth Spring, AR. |
