Edna May Brown, of West Plains, MO, was born June 5, 1911, in Greer, MO, and passed away June 7, 2011, at BrookHaven Health Care in West Plains, MO, at the age of 100 years and 2 days.

Survivors include: 1 son, Carl Brown of West Plains, MO; 2 granddaughters, Kim Wake and husband Kelly of West Plains, MO, and Michelle Brown of Little Rock, AR; 2 grandsons, Jeff Brown of West Plains, MO, and Brian Brown of Illinois; 4 great-grandchildren, Leslie, Korey, Kayla, and Logan; 3 sisters, Frances Brawley of West Plains, MO, Nell Hoover, and Dicie Doty of North Carolina; a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Olney Brown; her parents, Will and Rosie Friend; 1 son, Arnold Harrison Brown and wife Fay; her paternal grandparents, John and Mary Friend; her maternal grandparents, John and Katie Sisco; 1 brother, John Henry Friend and wife Verla; 6 sisters, Minnie Friend, Mary Ellen Earls and husbands Lee Earls and Fred Schlough, Molly Johnson and husband John, Vivian Medley, Amy Mann, and Mamie Patterson and husband Ernest; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Edna was a kind, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved nothing more than having her family home on Sundays, Christmas, and other holidays, and friends and neighbors were always welcome to come for a visit. She was a Christian of the Pentecostal faith, and was a regular attendant at Fellowship Tabernacle in Brandsville, MO.

Services will be 10am Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with Bro. Tom Wall officiating, and burial following in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Thursday, June 9, 2011. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO.
