Eugene “Gene” Smith, age 84 of Alton, MO was born April 15, 1927 and passed away April 22, 2011 at his home.

He was united in marriage to Augusta Irene Williams on March 7, 1945. to this union six children were born. Glenda Deckard and husband Harlin, Lena Bridges and husband Richard, Sue Chronister, Buck Smith and wife Deborah, Angie Foulks and husband Dennis, Denford Smith and wife Mary, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchidlrenm one great-grandchild, one brother, two sisters. and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Claude Smith and Ethyl Blankenshp Smith and three sisters.

Gene accepted Christ at an early age. He was loved by his family and many friends.

Graveside services will be 3:00pm Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Many Springs Cemetery with Bro. David Case officiating. Arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.
