James “Tiny” Scott Schuyler, 70, of Decatur, Illinois, died at his home in Couch, Missouri, at 8:30 a.m. on January 31, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. The son of James Jacob Schuyler and Ethel Margurite Scott Schuyler, “Tiny” was born in Decatur, Illinois on November 22, 1940. He attended Lakeview Junior High School and Niantic High School. He was an Eagle Scout with his cousin, Philip Scott, and his Scout Master was his beloved uncle, Earl White. He worked at Highfield Buick, Miles Chevrolet, and Ming Auto Body. “Tiny” also had his own business, Scorpion Fabrications, Inc. James was blessed with six children: Douglas Scott Schuyler, Laura Helene Schuyler Baldwin, Wesley Greg Schuyler, Sean Howard Schuyler, Tonya Kay Schuyler Riley, and Shelby Starre Schuyler Wilson. James married the love of his life, Jordie Ann, and treasured her children and grandchildren, Joe and Angie, their spouses Angela and Jay, grandchildren Rick, James and Amber, and great-grandson, Austin. James is survived by his loving wife, his children and step-children and their spouses, six grandchildren (Jamie, Kaitlynn, Alaiya, Hailey, Viviana, and Kieran) and two great-grandchildren (Hannah and Daniel); his aunts Marjorie Day and Marge Schuyler; extended family Patsy, Mabel, Barbara, Johnny, Buddy and Sue; his cousins David Scott, Michael Ray Scott, Susan Scott Holzer, and extended family: Mary, Linda, Ann, Betty, Pat, Rick, Alice, and Phyllis; and his dear friends, Jim Sebok and Dave Shonert. He is preceded in death by his parents; his aunts, Florence White, Helen “Scotty” Hammon, Helen “Jackie” Scott; his uncles, Ray Scott, Earl White, Kenneth Day, Bill Schuyler; his cousin, Philip Scott, and extended family: Larry, Tom and Ed. James loved people, life, fishing and hunting. It was amazing what he could create or repair with a steady dose of coffee. He wore an easy smile and was always quick with a joke. If he loved you, he told you so in every conversation, multiple times. He will be dearly missed by many. Services will be held at Clary Funeral Home, Alton, Missouri, on February 6, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at the family property. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of James to his wife, Jordie Schuyler in care of Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. |
