Survivors include: his parents, George Aldon Carlson and Elizabeth (Hankey) Gibbs of Thayer, MO; 1 sister, Linda Ann Moore of Clarkston, WA; and 1 brother, Terry Lynn Carlson of Thayer, MO.

Loy was cremated, and there will be a memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
