Edith Juanita Hincha Reese, (known as Granny), age 92 of Alton, MO, was born December 4, 1918 in Chanute, KS and passed away December 31, 2010 at her home. Survivors include: 4 children; Shirley Spurlock of Springfield, MO, Susie Hainey of Alton, MO, Denny Reese and wife Jane of Alton, MO, Nolen Reese of West Plains, MO, 9 grandchildren, who will serve as pallbearers; Mike Spurlock, Shawn Spurlock, Pat Spurlock, Kelly Hainey, Stacey Hainey, Jimmy Reese, Blake Reese, Josh Reese and Amanda Reese, 18 greatgrandchildren; Clay, Jessica, Colton, Hailey, Kacey, Chloe, Anthony, Valerie, Ethan, Kylea, Garryque, Michaela, Chantz, Ryon, Jace, Jaylee, Mercury and Greer, one sister, Betty Birden of Sun City, AZ and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death in were: her parents; Elmer and Edna Hincha, her husband, Jim Reese, 1 child, Elmer D. Reese and 1 sister, Irene Wright. She was united in marriage to Jim L. Reese June 6, 1934 at Eminence, MO. They moved to Mammoth Spring, AR, in 1948, operating the Mammoth Spring Livestock Auction until closing it in 1966. From 1968 to 1985 they operated the Central Ozark Livestock Auction in West Plains, MO. She was an avid gardener and a great cook. She took her first art lesson at the age of fifty and soon became an accomplished artist. Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. Charles Trantham officiating, with burial to follow in the Huddleston Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. |
