Anna E. Baldwin, 93, currently of Alton, MO and formerly of Leonardsville when home to be with her Lord October 19, 2010 at Shady Oak Facility where she spent the past few years. She was born May 22, 1917 in Leonardsville, the daughter of Charles Lestery and Jennie Mae (Silvay) Curtis. Anna attended the West Edmeston School House. She married Lawrence I. Baldwin in 1945. He predeceased her in March of 1986. Ana and Lawrence were farmers in Brookfield. Anna especially enjoyed feeding and taking care of the young calves, and also belonged to the NYS Grange. Anna loved to cook, and was always ready to contribute her cakes to the Brookfield Fire Department. Anna is survived by her nieces Carol Mae (Robert) Burchard, Laura Short; her stepdaughter Dorothy (Corky) Weidman; and God-daughter Julia; her niece June Curtis (Arnold) Brigham, and nephew Myron (Doris) Curtis Jr.. Anna and Lawrence also raised John Weaver, who survives. Besides her husband Lawrence, Anna was predeceased by her siblings Myron Charles Curtis, Lydia Belle Curtis Kaiser, Myrtle May Short; and three nephews Paul, Lewis and Stewart Curtis. Funeral Services will be held on Monday October 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston with Rev. Ernest Clemmons officiating, Calling hours are from Noon till 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be at Brookfield Rural Cemetery.
