Ruth Alene Zachary departed this life on May 1, 2010. She was born at Smithville, AR April 25, 1935 to Lindsey and Ethel Turnbow Mays.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Ward Zachary and Mark Roy Zachary, one daughter, Joyce Ann Peterson, her grandsons, Michael Zachary, Elijah Zachary, Brad Michael Zachary, Shawn Michael Morrison, her granddaughters, Sarah Jade Dalton, Sandra Morrison, her great-grandchildren, Jack James, Forrest James, Elijah James, Issaiah and Jonah David, sisters, Emma Garrison and husband Carrol, Joyce Sheppard, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a special grandmother, Alba Mays and husband Samuel, grandparents Jake and Maggie Turnbow, two sisters, Hope Cox and husband JL, infant sister Mary Estell Mays, two brothers, Gussie Lee and Joe Albert Mays, infants, one brother-in-law, Aubrey Sheppard and nephew Allen Sheppard.

Ruth believed in our lord Jesus Christ. She was a kind, loving and giving person. She has a great sense of humor, kept us all laughing with her stories and funny antics. She could remember every old saying and remembered things about her sisters that even they could not remember. She could fix anything that needed fixing, or would (anyhow) take it a part. Even after losing a leg, she mowed and raked her yard, sitting sideways on her lawnmower. She liked to Clean and cook, made her special carrot cake at most of our get-togethers. She is greatly loved and missed by her family and friends

Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Clary Funeral Home, Mammoth Spring, AR with Bro. Richard Todd officiating. Interment will be in the Old Bethel Cemetery.
