Ola Margaret “Madge” Holmes was born June 15, 1924, in Caldwell, MO, and passed away July 20, 2009, in her home in Alton, MO. Survivors include: one daughter, Janice Chapman and husband John of Kimberling City, MO; a granddaughter, Rona Downs and husband Sam of Humansville, MO; and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Downs. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death: her parents, Thomas Eli Gwaltney and Ola Jenny (Baily) Gwaltney; her husband, Dorlas Holmes; and ten siblings. Madge was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Services will be 2pm Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Jobie Steele and Rev. Bob Wiggs officiating, with interment following in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. |
