Hulan Grover Patterson, 81, the son of Lois and Alpha Patterson, was born July 21, 1927 at Gatewood, MO and departed this life June 5, 2009 at OMC in West Plains, MO. He was united in marriage on January 24, 1950 in Walnut Ridge, AR to Christine Louise Clayton, his wife of 59 years. He is survived by his wife Louise Patterson of the home, his four children, Kendall Patterson, wife Lavonda, Hohenwald, TN, Kalon Patterson, Nashville, TN, Becky Redus, husband Lane, Fairdealing, MO, Kimberly Cox, Husband Joe, Thayer, MO, grandchildren Heather Rupe, husband Russ, Franklin, TN, Susan French, husband Roger, Cherokee Village, AR, Ryan Cox, wife Lori, Springfield, MO, Brittany Allen, Lawrence KS, Molly King, husband Michael, Thayer, MO, Courtney Redus, Fairdealing, MO, Blake Allen, Thayer, MO, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lois and Alpha Patterson, three children, Keith Patterson, Gayla Jo Patterson, and infant daughter Karen Patterson. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a retired farmer and livestock hauler and a veteran of WWII. He attended the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Calm, MO. Pallbearers are Blake Allen, Lane Redus, Ryan Cox, Joe Cox, Michael King, and Roger French. Services will be 2:00pm, Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Joby Steele officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm, Saturday at the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO. |
