Carl Eugene Watson, 65, West Plains, MO, formerly of Alton, MO, son of the late Willie Ray and Lena Christine Watson, was born September 2, 1943 at Alton, MO and passed away May 17, 2009 at the Cox Medical Center, Springfield, MO.

Carl was united in marriage to Wanda Cowan from Birch Tree, MO on September 16, 1962. To this union four children were born, sons, Greg Watson, Stan Watson, Bryan Watson, one daughter, Julie (Watson) Thompson. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Wanda, Greg and children, Erin Marie and husband Nate Swift, Isabelle Claire and Julie Renee, son Stan, his wife Jodi and their children, Emma, Ellie, Audrey and Avery, son Bryan, his wife Shannon and their children, Gracie and Logan Carl, his daughter, Julie (Watson) Thompson, her husband Jim Thompson, and their children, Jim, Trent and Tyler, one sister, Eva Fern Morris and husband Bob and a host of brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends.

Carl was saved at an early age and was a member of the Smyrna Freewill Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and farming, was quick witted and was always ready to share his humor to encourage family and friends.

Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Smyrna Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Watson and Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Pallbearers will be Harley Watkins, Keith Johnson, Johnny Higgins, Greg McLaughlin, Leroy Crews and Ray Ginder. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Holmes, Bob Wright, Keith Dodson, Bob Morris, Kelly Dotson, Russell Kallak, Darrell Strain, Dean Minich, Chuck Swift, Travis Mock, Trent Thompson, Tyler Thompson, James Thompson III, Logan Watson and Nate Swift. Interment will be in the Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.
