Ruth Delores (Click) Simpson, age 83 of Alton, MO, was born October 6, 1925, in St. Louis, MO, and passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO. She was born to George Arthur Click and Nacy Jane Reynolds Click. On February 14, 1942, she was married to Daniel Max Simpson, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1978. To this union four children were born: Barbara A. Simpson of Alton, MO, Becky Gibbs of Van Buren, MO, Betty Blankenship of Alton, MO, and Danny Simpson of Alton, MO. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and housewife, and helped her husband on the farm until his death. She was later employed at the Alton School as head cook for several years. She was a Christian and an active member of the Victory Freewill Baptist Church and loved being with her church family. She loved helping people and her favorite pasttime was baking pies for her friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, who loved her dearly. Although we grieve our loss, we know our loss is Heaven’s gain. She is survived by: her four children, Barbara A. Simpson, Becky Gibbs and husband Wayne, Betty Blankenship and husband Bill, Danny Simpson and wife Fay; six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; two brothers, James Weldon Click, Sr., and William Amos Click; and one sister, Ruby Marietta Click Rulo; and an infant sister, Gladys Click. Services will be 2pm Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with Bro. Matthew Todd, Bro. Garland Barton, and Bro. Jason Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Bailey Cemetery. Family night will be 6pm-8pm Friday, January 30, 2009. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. |
