Leona Maxine Vaughan, daughter of the late Oliver Edward Vaughan and Ozella Lee Vaughan, was born November 6th, 1941, in Ott, Arkansas. She entered into eternal rest December 2, 2008, at the age of 67 years. She is survived by: her daughter Jackie Risner of Myrtle, MO; her son, Dustin Oliver and his wife Josie Oliver of Lodi, CA; her grandchildren, Joshua, Sara, Sadee, Calee, and Emilee of Myrtle, MO, and Kassandra of Lodi, CA; and three great grand children Audree, Lane, and Coy of Myrtle MO; six siblings, Marjorie Cockrum of West Plains, MO, Max Vaughan of Bakersfield MO, and Bonnie Carlile of West Plains, MO, Sherwood Vaughan of West Plains, MO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Otis, Orvis, and Bob Vaughan; and one sister Opal Mae Hicks. Maxine loved to crochet, knit, was a seamstress and created many works of art that will, like her memory, remain with us forever. Later in her life she took up twilling and donated her work to various causes throughout the area. She was also an avid homemade candy maker and included her family in making large batches of sweets for all to enjoy. She grew up in various local communities and attended several local schools. She was also a member of the Church of Christ. Maxine touched the lives of everyone she knew, and left a lasting impression on those she met. Her love, thoughtfulness and infectious personality was and will always be in our hearts forever. A memorial service was held 6pm Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO. |
