Calvin Roy Sheets, age 72, of Thomasville, MO, was born January 3, 1936, in Koshkonong, MO, and passed away October 11, 2008, at his home.

On March 15, 1957, he was united in marriage to Susan Jane Boyd in Mammoth Spring, AR. They raised their daughters in Thayer, MO, and after retirement moved to Thomasville, MO.

Survivors include: 3 daughters, Diana St. Onge and husband Ken of Wildwood, MO, Cindy Tusher and husband Uel of Alton, MO, Linda Cates and husband Bill of West Plains, MO; grandchildren, Sherry St. Onge Nolan, Barrett St. Onge and wife Mariela, Amanda Tusher, Steven Tusher, Catherine Tusher, Stephanie Cates, and Brittany Cates; great-grandchildren, Grace Bates, Brianna Bates, Chase Nolan and Nicholas Nolan; several special nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were: his wife, Susan; his parents, Sylvia and Roy Sheets; brother, Jerry Sheets; special uncle, Jim Sheet; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Josephine Gum Boyd.

Calvin served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. He was a farmer and owned Thayer Decorating before retiring. Susan and Calvin loved to square dance, were members of the Mammoth Spring Square Dance Club and enjoyed traveling with coach Tom Barr’s Grizzly basketball team. He spent countless hours teaching and pulling water skiers, and was a member of the Koshkonong Masonic Lodge.

Services will be 10am Tuesday, October 14, 2008, in the Clary Chapel with Bro. Arvil Hill officiating. Interment will be in the Woodside Cemetery, under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Monday. Pallbearers will be: Steven Tusher, Van McGibney, Norm Hollis, Barrett St. Onge, Robert Hollis and Beryl Jones.
