Paul Dean Perrigo, age 94 of Alton, MO, was born November 23, 1913, on a homestead in Union County, New Mexico, to Johnathan Earl Perrigo and Annaliza Urton Perrigo, and passed away August 17, 2008, at the Shady Oaks Health Care Center in Thayer, MO. He was united in marriage to Leila Sullivan on November 19, 1960, in Oregon County, MO. He was inducted into the U.S. Army Air Force and served his country during World War II. While there, he received an “Honor Certificate” that was issued only on rare occasions for outstanding work he did while at the Army Air Force Technical Training Command. He then worked many jobs, but the last several years before his retirement he was a head sawyer and worked at many locations including Alaska. Paul is survived by: his 6 nieces, Daisy Simmons of Alton, MO, Joyce Davis of Bartlett, TN, Carolyn Rowland of Buffalo, MO, Betty Dunehew of Memphis, TN, Gwen Tubb of Memphis, TN, and Judy Dunehew of Tupelo, MS; 1 nephew, William Perrigo of Memphis, TN; 1 step-daughter, Sandra; 3 step-sons, Don, Jim and Tommy Best. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Leila; his parents, Johnathan Earl Perrigo and Annaliza Urton Perrigo; 1 sister, Neva Arnold; 1 brother, William Perrigo; 1 niece, Mary Helt; and 1 step-son, Billy Wayne Sutton. Services will be 2pm Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the Clary Chapel in Alton, MO, with Bro. Larry Tubb officiating. The family will receive guests from 1pm-2pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, MO. Arrangements are being made under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. |
