Donald Hugh Simpson, age 73, was born February 24, 1935, in Alton, MO, and passed July 17, 2008, at his home in Alton, MO.

Survivors include: 1 son, Bruce Simpson of Alton, MO; 3 sister-in-laws, Irene Chronister & husband Leroy, Wilma Dotson, and Anna Jean Andrews; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Aleta (Howell) Simpson; and his parents, Heman J. and Thelma Edith (Williams) Simpson.

Don was a former teacher and county commissioner, ran a hardware store, and operated the Alton License Bureau for many years. He loved all sports, especially baseball and basketball.

Services will be 2pm Saturday, July 19, 2008, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with Bro. John Lewis Casey officiating, and with burial following in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm at the Clary Chapel. Arrangements are being made under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO.
