Jo Ella (Dodson) Rackley passed from this life June 26, 2008, at her home in Alton, Missouri, at the age of 77. She was born March 4, 1931, in Couch, MO, to her parents Rev. Clarence & Berlie (Hall) Dodson.

On October 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to James W. Rackley in Hernando, MS and to this union 5 children were born.

Jo Ella is survived by: her husband, James, of the home; 5 children, Janet Rackley of West Plains, MO, Patti Collins & husband Ted of Alton, MO, Mike Rackley & wife Angie of Alton, MO, Mark Rackley & wife Kristie of Alton, MO, and Nancy Rackley Pinckney & husband Kevin of Springfield, MO; 9 grandchildren, JR Bennett II, Greg Rackley, Brad Rackley, Amanda Collins, Seth Collins, Lindsey Ruch, Evan Ruch, Hope Rackley, Derrek Rackley; 1 great-granddaughter, Shaylee Rackley; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Rev. Clarence & Berlie (Hall) Dodson; 4 brothers, Carl, Junior, James, & Densel.

Jo Ella was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She was a long time member of the Alton Freewill Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary.

Services will be 2pm Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Alton Freewill Baptist Church, with Bro. Charles Trantham officiating, with burial following in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Clary Chapel. Arrangements are being made under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO.

The family extends their sincerest thanks to the staff of Riverways Hospice for the compassionate care provided during their mother’s illness. Memorial contributions can be made to this fine organization.
