Lawrence Allen “L.A.” Ford, age 84 of West Plains, MO (formerly of the Many Springs community), was born February 17, 1924, in Alton, MO, and passed away March 2, 2008, at NHC HealthCare in West Plains, MO. Survivors include: his wife, Betty (Guffey) Ford, of the home; 2 daughters, Barbara Martin and husband Kenneth, and Shirley Green and husband David; 2 grandchildren, Rex Martin and Sonya Martin, all of Bois D’Arc; 1 step-son, Clinton Guffey and wife Vicky of West Plains, MO; 2 step grandchildren, Heather Bunch and husband Mark, and Barbara Guffey, all of West Plains, MO; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Landon and Carter Bunch of West Plains, MO; 4 sisters, Anna Barton of Peace Valley, MO, Delora Vest and Martha Warren of Alton, MO, and Olive Bales of Poplar Bluff, MO; 1 brother, David Ford of Peace Valley, MO; a special nephew, Cleve Warren of West Plains, MO; and numerous other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Daisy (Williams) Ford; his parents, Farris and Winnie (Houdek) Ford; a sister, Frances Ford; a brother, Chris Ford; and two infant brothers, Daniel and Jessie. Services will be 1pm Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Clary Chapel in Alton, MO, with Bro. Ronnie Blanks officiating, and interment following in the Many Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are being made under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. |
