Barbara Kay (Ipock) Higgins was born September 30, 1950, in Alley Springs, MO. She entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on September 11, 2026, while in her home in Rover, MO.

Barbara was married to Johnny Higgins for 61 years. They married February 15, 1965, in Peach Orchard, MO. She was a faithful and devoted wife, working alongside her husband on the farm most of her life. Together, they raised 2 children, Johnny Higgins, Jr. (Tabatha) and Holly Higgins-Kastner. She had 5 grand-daughters, Bethany Higgins, Brooke Higgins, Eva Grace Higgins, Emme Kastner, and Eden Kastner. Barbara or “Mawmo” as she was nicknamed took great pleasure doting on her family and spending time with them. They truly were her greatest earthly rewards.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Edna (Cooley) Ipock, 2 brothers, Dwayne “Red” Ipock and Ronald Ipock, and 1 sister, Yvonna Denton. She is survived by 1 sister, Donna Heath (Larry) and several sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and a host of precious friends and neighbors.

Barbara held a few jobs in her younger years, but her heart was in her home and on the farm. She was a wonderful cook, best known for “cat head biscuits and poochy gravy”. If you’d ever been to Johnny and Barb’s you know you never left hungry. She welcomed people in her home and served her family, friends, and neighbors whenever needed. She was a beautiful example of the Proverbs31 woman. She taught Sunday school class for years and was of the Baptist faith.

Barbara was a strong, resilient lady. She fought a difficult battle with her health in the end, but she was careful to share her faith throughout her difficult journey. Her desire for her friends and family would be for them to join her in Heaven one day.

Graveside services will be 11am Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Jolliff Cemetery in Rover, MO, with Bro. John Higgins, Jr., and Bro. Andy Trantham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church VBS.

Pallbearers: David Slayton, Barry Slayton, Stanley Bell, Jason Stubbs, Joe Anderson, Randy Judd
