Alice Evonne Holman Barton, born October 25, 1947, at her family home, passed away at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was the cherished daughter of James Lester Holman and Josephine Francis Miller Holman, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her sister and brother.

Alice was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Fred Howard Barton, on April 26, 1964. Together, they built a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. They raised their children on the family farm, where Alice created a lifetime of cherished memories. She especially enjoyed spending time with each of her children and grandchildren, always making them feel loved and valued. Most recently, Alice and Howard purchased a river cabin, where they had already begun creating special new memories with their family.

She is survived by her children: Kevin Barton; Bevin Poe and her husband, Larry; and Stephanie Bridges and her husband, Victor. Alice’s legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and two more great-grandchildren on the way, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Alice will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the enduring power of love.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Clary Funeral Home in Alton, Missouri. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery. Edward Casey will officiate.
