Leland Raymond Dunklin, age 83 of Alton, MO was born November 1, 1942 in Powersville, MO and passed away February 28, 2026 at his home. Survivors include four children, Belinda Roy and Tony, Richard Dunkin and Sherry Simmons, Ray Dunkin and Erica, Kallie Stroud and fiancé Austin Johnson, one brother Fred Dunkin and wife Sharon, two sisters Opal Thornburg and husband Walter, Jean Gray, ten grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Leland went to high school in Washington, Iowa, and quit in the 11th grade to help his dad work horses, milk cows and work in the fields. He was a dairy farmer, hauled milk, worked at a sawmill for Gary Brown in Douds, hauled lime, delivered newspapers and helped build pallets at Fred’s. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Wells Dunkin and Neita Harbert Dunkin, his wife on of 27 years Lela, a still born child Bonnie, grandson Amari and 2 brothers Trulan Dunkin and wife Betty, Leon Dunkin and wife Ruth, three sisters Lillian Clark, Mary Clark and Lucille Tolle. Visitation will be noon-1:00 pm Wednesday, March 4, 2026 with service at 1:00pm at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Bro. David Langston will be officiating, Burial in the Bailey Cemetery. |
