Becky Lou Howell, age 86 of Mammoth Spring, AR, was born June 23, 1939, and passed away January 5, 2026, at the Eagle Crest Nursing Center in Ash Flat, AR. Survivors include: her daughter, Lorna (Dennis) Avery; 4 grandchildren, Alan (Dawnisa) Avery, Matthew (Brietta) Avery, Trista Avery, Keeley Rogers; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex, Axton, Sawyer, Tenley, Edmund, Henry; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Wade Jack Howell; her daughter, Lisa Rogers; her parents, Robert Lee and Stella Pearl (Reed) Haney; 7 brothers, Luther Haney, Oren Haney, Claude Haney, Woody Haney, Gene Haney, Charles Haney, and R.L. Haney; 3 sisters, Berle Green, Merle McHenry, and Cora Lee Phelps. She found joy in the quiet moments of life—losing herself in a good book, carefully working through crossword puzzles, and always keeping her mind sharp. Through her work with Head Start, she helped guide and nurture countless children, giving encouragement and a strong beginning when it mattered most. Funeral services will be 11am Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. Erman Croney officiating, and burial following in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 10am-11am Friday prior to the service.
