Ruby Jean Walters Armour, age 87 of Thayer, MO, was born on January 25, 1933, in Riverton, Missouri, to Fate and Edna (Rackley) Johnson and departed this life on November 16, 2020. Ruby was united in marriage to Richard Walters in May 1950. To this union two children were born, Charlie Walters and Diane Walters Garrison. She married Jerome Armour in May of 1984. Ruby was an adventurous, high spirited, fiercely independent woman whom her grandkids fondly refer to as “somethin else”. In her younger years she loved fishing on the Eleven Point River and Lake Norfork; and later, Greers Ferry Lake where she owned a lake house with her husband Jerome. Aside from reminiscing with family, her greatest passion was playing Bingo, Slots and Scratch- offs with her girlfriends. Ruby is survived by her two children, Charlie Walters and wife Janie of Thayer; and Diane Garrison and husband Van of Mammoth Spring; one sister, Patsy Zwald of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren Shelley Hollis, David Walters, Amy Turnbough, Annie Garrison, Dustin Walters and Josh Garrison; great-grandchildren Lewis, Emmaline, Baylor, Bristal, Briley, Caden, Avery, Adeline, Jasper, Emery, Teagan, Laken, Kara and Cody; great-great-grandchildren August, Jaxson, Madison, Kaleb and Mya. Ruby was preceded in death by: her parents, Fate and Edna Rackley Johnson; her husband, Jerome Armour; her brother, Edward (Snook) Johnson; and her sisters, Lynna Mae Dodson and Peggy Ring. Graveside services will be 2pm on Wednesday November 25, 2020 at Bailey Cemetery in Alton, MO under the direction of Clary Funeral Home.
