Artie Marie Simpson Case was born February 15, 1926, at Wilderness, MO. She passed from this life on October, 16, 2020. Artie has several family members to greet in heaven: her mother, Olsie Mae Simpson; father, Robert (Bobby) Simpson; a great grandchild; siblings, Hattie Smith and Janie Williams; grandparents and many friends. Artie married the love of her life, Leoid Ezra Case, November 7, 1945—together 70 years and 10 months. Leoid passed from this life, September 5, 2016. They have two children, David Lee Case and wife Rosemary of Alton, MO, and Connie Case Wilson and husband Tom Wilson, Springfield, MO. Sweethearts for 71 years, Artie and Leoid were blessed with four grandchildren, Julie Ary, husband Lyndy, Thayer, MO; Janine Jenkins, husband Morris, Gainesville, MO; Joy Caldwell, husband Bob, Arnold, MO; Joshua Wilson, wife Renee, Denver, CO; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild in heaven, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Artie was a schoolteacher before she married, and after having her children, she was a stay-at-home mom, caring for her children, the home, and making sure all the lights were kept on. She was a very hard worker, tending to garden, canning, cooking all the meals, baking, and her specialty were her pies. Artie’s pies— everyone visiting had to have some of Artie’s pies because they were so delicious. Her favorite thing to do was to have a big meal with all her family gathered around the table. Artie’s love for Jesus was evident as she cared for her family, and as she taught Sunday School for many years, always helping with Christmas plays, Vacation Bible School, Church Training, or wherever she was needed. She was also a lot of fun— she loved to laugh and play and tell stories to her children and grandchildren. She is the matriarch of her family, greatly loved, and she will be greatly missed. She was the best mom and granny God ever created. Private graveside celebration of life will be held with Bro. Bob Caldwell and Bro. Wayne Adrian officiating at Wilderness Church Cemetery, with pallbearers: Riley Jenkins, Isaiah Caldwell, Brady Jenkins, Josiah Caldwell, Micaiah Wilson, Landry Jenkins, and Noah Caldwell. |
