Ruth Ann Johnson Williams, only daughter and youngest child of Edmund �Clair� and Dora Ann Blankenship Johnson, was born November 1, 1941 at Alton, MO and departed this life January 22, 2020 at Saint Louis University Hospital, St Louis, MO at the age of 78 years, 2 months, 21 days. \ Ruth Ann was married in 1981 in Evansville, IN to her best friend and the love of her life, Waldo Williams. Waldo and Ruth moved back to Missouri in 1983, settling in Van Buren, near the Current River, where they resided for the rest of their lives. Waldo passed from this life on September 3, 2013. Ruth is survived by her close friends for 30 years, Wanda and Cliff Cumins, one sister-in-law, Grace Johnson of Little Rock, AR, several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Waldo Williams, her parents Clair and Dora Johnson, and three brothers, Kyle, Joe and Edward Johnson. Ruth was a 1959 graduate and class Valedictorian of Alton high School. Several years later she worked as Secretary to the Superintendent and School Board. Ruth Ann retired from the Division of Family Services at Van Buren, MO. She and Waldo spent as much time as was allowed fishing the Eleven Point River and hunting from their cabin in Oregon County. Services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, with visitation noon-until service time. Burial will be in the Cotton Creek Cemetery. |
