Robert Lawrence “Bob” Wilson, age 73 of Alton, MO was born March 15, 1946 in St. Louis, MO and passed away December 31, 2019 at his home.

Survivors include; son Brandon James Wilson, daughter Cindy Marie McGinty, stepdaughter Sandra Ann Kerr, brother Donald Wilson, sisters Barbara Sewar (Marvin) and Patricia Kessler (Bill), 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Bob was thankful to have a cherished friend Jim Spence and wife Jean in his life for over 50 years. Also, his close and dear friends Bob and Paula Richardson, who they shared their hearts, home and love. Bob will be missed by many friends and loved ones.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Herbert L. Wilson and Helen C. Wibbenmeyer-Wilson, stepson Lawrence Wayne Marsh, JR, brothers William and Joseph Wilson.

After graduating from high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving his country from June 1964 to June 1968, in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. When he left the Marines, Bob moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he worked as a civil Engineer for the Union Pacific railroad until his retirement. Robert was a member of the Alton-Thayer Elks Lodge #2545. AMVETS Post 98 and Marine Corp League #183. He enjoyed fishing, outings with Lori, watching old western movies, especially ones with John Wayne, SI-FI, Perry Mason and M.A.S.H., coin collecting, and of course, his cigars.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm January 17, 2020 at Jefferson Barracks Veterans Cemetery, St Louis, MO with Deacon Bill Kessler officiating, military honors by Marine Corp League 183.
