Bobby Charles Anderson age 81 of Alton, MO departed this life on May 3rd, 2019. Bob, also known as Sonny, was born October 6, 1937 in Pine, Missouri, a son of the late Joe and Pearl Anderson. On May 26, 1956 Bob was united in marriage to Norma Jean “Jeanie” Combs. They celebrated 52 years together before her passing in 2008. Bob is survived by one daughter, Gail Blair and husband Gary of Courtois , MO, one granddaughter Misty Dawn Courtouise and husband Aaron of Belleview, MO, one step-grandson, Shawn Blair and wife Amy of Ward, AR, one sister, Bonnie Sue Wood and husband Ron of Chatham IL, one brother-in-law Keith Combs and wife Shirley of Alton, MO and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, and his wife, he was also preceded in death by one son, David Alan Anderson, and two sisters, Patsy Chapman and Wanda Jo “Joey” Riggs. Bob was best known for his days as a logger and sawmill owner and then he joined Jeanie in the running of the Alton Florist until they sold it in 2010. His interests included hunting, fishing and gardening in his younger years and after the purchase of the Alton Florist, he loved delivering flowers for Jeanie and assisting in he shop. He was also a lifelong racing fan and very seldom ever missed a Nascar race. Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in the Clary Funeral Home in Alton MO, with the Brother Keith Combs officiating, with interment following in Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 6th, 2019.
