Herschel H. (Pete) Redburn, 91,of Alton passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Mountain View. He was born August 10, 1927 near Alton to Henry F. and Grace Ella (Morrison) Redburn. Pete was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of World War II serving in Japan. He retired from a career operating heavy equipment throughout the United States and in Saudi Arabia. Pete married Madelyn Bayleff on Sept. 23, 1952 who preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 1991. He was remarried on Aug. 13, 1993 to June Brown who preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 2003. Also preceding him in death were three sisters, Mildred, Hazel and Dianne; and three brothers-in-law, S. T. Holman, Kent Rotramel, and Truman Parrott. He is survived by his sister Marge Parrott of West Plains and two stepsons, James Melton (Sharron) of Paragould AR and Winfred Melton (Ann) of Van Buren MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25 at Clary Funeral Home in Alton with the reverends Mike Parrott and Craig Hensley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
