George Elliot Swan passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2018, just four days after his 68th birthday at his home in Myrtle, Mo. He was born in Stockton, Calif., to Henry and Ruby (Moody) Swan and was the youngest of six children.

George was a proud father of five and grandfather of 26. He attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Stockton, Calif., earned is Associates Degree in HVAC-R and was a licensed real estate agent. George was a true renaissance man both professionally and in his personal life. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own a satellite TV sales/service/installation business and worked in such fields as refrigeration repair, automotive restoration and real estate.

In his free time, he would enjoy restoring vintage vehicles and building/flipping homes. George was a baptized and endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving the Lord though his various church callings and assignments.

George had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, never known to have a negative thing to say. This was consistently demonstrated through an optimistic outlook on life, hilarious sense of humor, vigor to attack new challenges and resiliency in the face of adversity.

His true loves in life were his family and friends. As a devoted brother, father and grandfather, he enjoyed traveling all over the country to spend time with his family at concerts, rodeos, recitals, ballets, birthdays, holiday fun and everyday life.

He was a proud Army veteran, serving as a 05C MOS Army Radio Teletype Operator and 11D20 Armor Intelligence Specialist (Tank Commander). He earned his National Defense Service Medal & Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his service in Vietnam and was a recipient of several marksmanship medals.
George was preceded in death by both his parents and his brother Russell Swan.

He is survived by siblings Rosa Silveira, Beverly (Jim) Tsakopulos, Henry (Stephanie) Swan Jr. and Alan (Edith) Swan. Children: Michael (Mary) Swan, Steven (Rebecca) Swan, Michelle (Lynn) Hershberger, Heather (Mario) Fabrizio and Sara (James) Mortensen. Grandchildren: Mia and Zoe Snow, Adam Swan; Nephi, Amanda, Jeremiah, Mikayla, Meghan and Daniel Swan; Jackson and Charlotte Larsen; Christian, Haylie and Dylan Heathington, Bradley, Ashlyn, Wesson, Tucker and Paisley Fabrizio; Luke, Bella, Royce, Abrahm, Shiloh, Jonah and Baby Mortensen and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 611 W. Melody Lane, Bisbee, Ariz. Burial will follow at the Swan Family Cemetery, 2603 Swan Road, Bisbee, Ariz. The family will greet friends at a reception following the burial at the VFW, 1326 Highway 92, Bisbee, Ariz.
