Survivors include; his wife of 53 years Lillie Marietta Varnell of Alton, MO, four children, Guy Eugene Varnell of Alton, MO, Violet Inez Escalera, SR and husband Mark of Cheyenne, WY with five children, Mark JR and wife Abryanna, son Anthony Joseph Escalera of Cheyenne Air Force Base, WY, Trenton Escalera of Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX, Sterling Escalera of Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA, Abagail Grace and Hannah Rose Excalera of Cheyenne, WY, Patricia Rhea Benitez and husband Gilbert of Thayer, MO, with two children, Abigail Hope and husband Morgan Lawless, son Andrew Norman Lawless born June 21, 2017, and Nathanael Aaron Benitez of Natalia, TX, Daniel Gregory Varnell of Stillwell, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse E. and Inez Varnell.
