Hopie Hull Sisco, age 89 of West Plains, MO, was born January 26, 1927, in Oregon County, MO, and passed away December 10, 2016, at his home surrounded by family. In life, Hopie worked in the timber trade for many years and later worked at Marathon Electric, now Regal-Beloit. After glaucoma forced him to retire from manufacturing work, Hopie bought his own block mill and worked for himself for several more years. Hopie married Ethel Boyer Sisco in 1951, and through this union, several children were born. Survivors include five children: Phyllis Smith of Millersburg, MO; Cindy Holloway and husband Gerald of Agnes, AR; Donna Joyner and husband Steve of Fulton, MO; Martha Cunningham and husband Larry of Camp, AR; and Michael Sisco and wife Jessica of the home. He is also survived by a son-in-law Randy Spencer and wife Donna of West Plains, MO; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Janice Spencer; three infant children; his parents, Clarsee and Robert Sisco; a son-in-law, Therman Smith; a grandson, James Smith; and ten siblings. Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO, burial in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. |
