Leonard Frost, age 96 of Alton, MO was born March 18, 1920 near Alton, MO and passed away April 17, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. Leonard was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. While living in California he retired from both the US Postal Service and the California Public school system. Once moving back to Alton, Leonard was very active in the Alton VFW, proudly marching in local parades, often times carrying a flag. Survivors include; his wife Mary Irene Frost, a son, Lonnie Frost, four grandchildren, Mary June Brown, Autumn Leigh McHugo, Terry Frost and Kara Frost, three great-grandchildren, Caitlynn Brown, Jerry Wayne Lopez and Timothy Seth Lopez, four great-great-grandchildren, Tyler Lopez, Ryan Lopez, Makai Lopez and Dashel Dean Lopez, two brothers, Floyd Frost and Willie Frost, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Elisha Frost and Nova Belle Strain-Frost, one daughter, Theresa Belle Frost, one son, Jerry Wayne Frost, nine brothers, John, Eugene, Joy, Charlie, Lloyd, Everett, James and Roy Frost, Paul Barton, two sisters, Rhoda Hollis and Nora Pingleton. Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. Leroy Blankenship officiating, burial in the Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
