Margie Mae Cook, daughter of the late Eunice Qualls, was born March 3, 1916, in Water Valley, MS, and passed away July 14, 2014, at the West Vue Nursing Home at the age of 98 years. She is survived by: 1 daughter, Frances Smith and husband Jerry of Myrtle, MO; 3 sons, Louis (Tony) Glover and wife Lavern of Duncanville, TX, Calvin Cook of San Diego, CA, and David Cook and wife Marcella of Arlington, TN; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Joy Graham of Jackson Port, AR; 1 brother, Fred Ward of Bartlett, TN; several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Herman and Eunice (Sutton) Tyler; 4 brothers, Albert Ward, Paul Ward, Ernest Ward, and James Qualls. She was employed by Puritan Fashion for 20 years, and lived in Thayer from 1959 until 2000. She had lived at Pleasant Valley Manor and West Vue Nursing Home until her passing. She attended the First Baptist Church of Thayer for many years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and known to most as “MeMaw”. She will truly be missed by all. Services will be 2pm Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. Richard Robinson officiating, and burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, AR. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
