Georgia May Carter, age 84 of Alton, MO was born September 24, 1929 in Corning, AR and passed away January 4, 2014 at the Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, MO. Survivors include, daughter, Debra McNamer and husband Clarence, son, Les Carter, brother, William “Buck” McConnaughay, three grandchildren, Heather Hinkle and husband Frank, Wayne Carter and wife Lorane, Aaron Carter and wife Holly, two great-grandchildren, Wesley Hinkle and Athena Carter and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Hocking and Cora (Duff) Hocking, her husband Lester Lee Carter, two sisters and one brother. Services will be 11:00am Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with burial in the Many Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
