John Rex Weiss, age 62 of Alton, MO was born September 10, 1950 in Denver, CO and passed away August 30, 2013 at his home near Many Springs. He was united in marriage to Sandra Penrod on April 17, 1974 in Bethany, MO. He served with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a volunteer with the BB Road Volunteer Fire Department. John enjoyed life to the fullest. Survivors include, his wife Sandra, one daughter, Sara Kelley and husband Justin of Bloomfield, MO, one son, John Ross Weiss of Burfordville, MO, two granddaughters, Kathleen and Caroline of Bloomfield, MO, mother-in-law, Lula Grimes Penrod of Poplar Bluff, MO, brother and sisters-in-laws, Mary and Rick Sells, Bill and Faye Penrod, Carolyn Kellums and Druzilla Penrod, all of Poplar Bluff, MO and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Millen Weiss and a brother, Robert Dean Weiss. Graveside services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Many Springs Cemetery with Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Monday at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.
