Samuel Thomas “Tom” Simpson, age 61 of Alton, MO was born July 8, 1951 in Thayer, MO and passed away January 9, 2013 at the Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, MO. Survivors include; his wife Pamela, two daughters, Sharlene Simpson, Elizabeth Allred and husband Ryan, four grandchildren, Chanse Nichol, Jacob Nichol, Bridget Allred, Lydia Allred, one sister, Jewelene Hatterman and husband Dan, two brothers, Carl Shields, Jerry Simpson and wife Barbara, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ora Zee Lance Simpson, and a brother, Glen Simpson. Tom attended Alton High School before enlisting in the Navy, serving during the Viet Nam conflict. He was united in marriage to Pamela Rodrigues on May 19, 1973 in Castro Valley, CA. The last several years Tom drove a bus for the Alton R-4 School system. He loved his Lord, his family, and his country very much. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Services will be 3:00pm Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. Kenny Simpson and Rev. Robert Chastain officiating. Burial will be in the Wilderness Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the SWMOA Foundation, in memory of Tom Simpson, and left at the funeral home.
