The most loyal, sweet, honest, patient, and loving sister EVER passed away on Sunday in her home. She has gone to spend time in the loving hands of God, and her family and friends that predeceased her. Margaret was the best sister we could have ever hoped for, and she made our lives a joy. Margaret, 64, was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 24, 1947, lived in Memphis, TN, Denver, CO, and moved to Alton, MO in November of 1995. She was preceeded in death by her parents, B. J. and Virginia Slaughter, her very special Grandmother (Chee-Chee Mama), and a very, very special aunt, Mary Charles Gum. Margaret had been married to Jerry Geddes, whom she knew from elementary school, and although they were divorced, they still had a very strong, loving bond with each other. She is survived by two sisters: Dinah Slaughter of Alton; and Susan Howie and her husband, Bud, of Fayetteville, NC. Margaret's daughter, Heather and her husband, Roger parents of Margaret's two granddaughters, Sydney and Abby, live in Mt. Airy, NC. Margaret was blessed with nieces and nephews who loved her very much. The family will be sharing in a private memorial service at a later date. Margaret, you will be missed.
