Thaine Levi Johnson, age 79 of Alton, Missouri, was born on December 22, 1932 at Many Springs, Missouri and passed from this life on Thursday, March 29, 2012. Upon graduation from Alton High School, Thaine served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 6, 1952, he married Ava Dale. To their union, two sons, Kirby Johnson and Kevin Johnson were born. Thaine was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a brave fighter against all odds that life dealt him that could only have been accomplished by deep spiritual faith and strong personal determination. He will leave a great void to his family, friends in our community as well as all those who’s lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Ava Johnson; two sons, Kirby Johnson and wife Penny, and Kevin Johnson and wife Wendy; five grandchildren, Carrie Johnson Wolfe, Carolyn Johnson Wake, Katlyn Johnson Wachter, Ryan Johnson and Megan Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Wolfe, Ephrain Rains and Ruthie Wake; one sister, Ruth Elliott; numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Thaine was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Sylvia and brothers Max and Wayne. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 4:00 p.m. at Many Springs Baptist Church with bro. Bob Wiggs and Bro. Ron Richardson officiating.
