Edna Ruth Simmons, age 88 of Alton, MO was born December 25, 1923 in Roby, TX and passed away February 23, 2012 in Springfield, MO. Survivors include; nine children, Charles Simmons, Luke Simmons, Jerry Simmons, Jenesce Shepard, Jenell York, Sam Simmons, Jenene Hall, Calvin Simmons, Jenette Kirkpatrick, one sister, Bessie Wright, three brothers, John Dee Gober, JR, James Gober and Joe Gober, 54 grandchildren, 114 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dee Gober, SR and Mary Delilah Woodall Gober, her husband, Louie Simmons, two sons, Van and Elven Simmons, four sisters and one brother. Services will be 1:00pm Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with burial in the Fryatt Cemetery.
