Homer Stevens age 68 of Alton, MO was born January 28, 1943 at Alton, MO, and passed away June 4, 2011 at his home.

He attended the Alton school, graduating with the class of 1960. During that time he had two bouts of rheumatic fever, later on causing a long and painful struggle with heart problems

Homer married Virginia Sisco, daughter of Charlie and Nettie Sisco in 1962. She passed away in 1996. Homer married Christine Smith Orr in December of 1999. They had 11 good years. He was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather. His family meant more to him than anything in this world. Homer worked in the St. Louis area all his life, working at the Chrysler plant until 1984, when he had to quit due to health problems.

Homer and Virginia had four children. Brenda and husband Michael Sansoucie, Joseph Stevens and friend Traci, Johnny and Kathy Stevens, Tracy and Eric Imfeld. He had five grandchildren, Joseph II, Michael, Ginny and Daniel Stevens and Ethan Imfeld. He was very special to his step-children, treating them like his own, Nancy and Rod Spoor, Steve and Annette Orr, Cara Roe and friend Dave and his special one, little Tracy Orr, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Ora Williams, one brother, Waymon Stevens, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Dee and Sarah Shipman Stevens, his first wife Virginia, four brothers, Grover, Earl, Jessie and Daymon, four sisters, Violet, Pearl, Agnes and Vora.

Services be 5:00pm Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. JR Andrews officiating. Burial will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Charter Baptist Church/Cemetery.
