Burial:
Bruce Charles Smith, age 85 of Alton, MO, was born September 17, 1923, in Oklahoma, and passed away July 24, 2009, at the Shady Oaks Healthcare Center in Thayer, MO. Survivors include: his wife, Thelma (Masters) Smith, of the home; 2 daughters, Patricia Christian and Sandy Ward, both of Texas; 3 sons, Tom Smith, Mike Smith, and Terry Smith, all of Texas; a step-daughter, Alice Meyers of Warrenton, MO; a step-son, Ted Herbert of Alton, MO; 1 brother, J. F. Smith of Pensacola, FL; 1 sister, Velma Beard of Arizona; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Oscar and Edna (Hatchett) Smith, 2 wives, Doris and Dorothy, 1 brother, Delvin Smith. A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday, August 2, 2009, at the United Baptist Church in Alton, MO, with Bro. John Lewis Casey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO.
