Dessie Louise Stark, age 74 of Mammoth Spring, AR, was born August 15, 1934 in Hardy, AR and passed away May 4, 2009 at her home. Survivors include; two sisters, Robbie Parnell of Mammoth Spring, AR and Betty Cooke of Houston, TX, one sister-in-law, Sharon Stark of Seligman, MO, 13 nephews and 8 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas “W.T.” Stark and Ezia Harger-Stark, one brother, J.D. Stark, one sister, Fern Belle Stark, two brother-in-laws, James Cooke and Harlin Parnell. Dessie worked for Delta and Trans Air lines for approximately 10 years, taught school in the Houston, TX area for 20 years and owned and operated a gift shop in Cape Cod, Maine. She loved to travel, had a great sense of humor and loved her cat Lucky. Dessie Lou was a member of the Class of 1951, Thayer High School. Services will be 10:00am Friday, May 8th, 2009 at the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO with Bro. Joe Slater officiating, with interment in the Baker Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
