Joe Dan Bates, age 47 of Alton, MO, was born April 3, 1961, in Alton, MO, and passed away February 8, 2009, at this home. Survivors include: his father, Boyd Bates, of Alton, MO; 1 daughter, Savanah Bates of Fayetteville, AR; 3 sisters, Patsy Redburn, Melinda Bates, and Rhonda Sanders; 4 brothers, Carson Bates, Jimmy Bates, Kevin Bates, and Phillip Bates; 15 foster siblings; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews; and a host of other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Minnie (Smith) Bates; and 1 sister, Linda Kay Bates. Services will be 10am, Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with Bro. Casey officiating. Interment will be in the Bailey Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO.
