Helen Bernice Dodson, age 82 of Alton, MO was born August 28, 1925 in Oregon County, MO and passed away June 29, 2008 at her home. In April of 1941 she was united in marriage to James Donovan Sisco, and to this union three children were born, Helen Sue, Larry Don and James Ronald. In June of 1965 she was united in marriage to Carl Dodson, who passed away April 29, 1993. Survivors include; one daughter, Helen Sue Sisco-Winn and husband Elwood of Independence, MO, James Ronald Sisco of the family home, one daughter-in-law, Theresa Sisco of Alton, MO, Carl’s children, Keith Dodson of Alton, MO, Tommy Dodson of Plattsburg, MO, Pam Cummings of the State of Utah, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, James Alfred Jobe and Roxie Lovena Caldwell Jobe, two husbands, James Donovan Sisco and Carl Dodson, one son, Larry Don Sisco, one grandson, Bruce Johnson, one brother, Hubert Jobe and one sister, Jessie Edith Jobe-Roy. Helen was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of the Many Springs Baptist Church for 49 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Services will be Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 2:00pm in the Clary Chapel with Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating. Interment will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00pm.
