Emmett Lee Cook, age 79 of Thayer, MO, was born August 29, 1928, in Viola, AR, and passed away March 23, 2008 at his home. Survivors include: two sons, Michael Cook and wife “Poke” of Arizona, Emmett Cook, Jr. of Oklahoma; one grandson, Michael Cook, Jr. of Arizona; one sister, Ruby Jean Steed and husband Charles of Thayer, MO; one aunt, Leida Cook of Mammoth Spring, AR; three nieces, nine nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were: his parents, Claude Emmett Cook and Cecil May Robinson Cook; his wife, Patricia Frantz Cook; one sister, one brother, three nephews, one niece, two uncles and three aunts. Emmett attended the Salem High School, where he played baseball. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. Emmett also drove a truck for Lee-Way Corporation for 35 years as a member of the Teamsters Union. Services will be Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 10am in the Clary Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, MO, with visitation Wednesday, 6pm-8pm. Interment will be in the Flint Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO. Pallbearers for the service will be Butch Steed, Jerry Steed, Kevin Steed, Kelly Steed, Jacob Steed, and TJ Steed. |
