Grant Douglas Wilburn was born the son of Floyd and Louise (Hayes) Wilburn on December 6,1951. He finished his time on earth on January 30, 2023. Grant was a brother to Linda (Robert) Moore and Emily (Jared) Green. He was an uncle to the Moore children (Andrea, Stephen, Aaron and Renee) and the Green children (Samantha, Wil, Ben and Sarah). He is also survived by several aunts, cousins and friends, including his lifelong friend Brant Casey. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Louise, his step-mother Rosia (Shrum) Wilburn, his grandparents Minn and Anna (Greer) Hayes and Andrew and Delia (Cates) Wilburn and his nephew Stephen Moore. Grant attended Nebo School, Alton Elementary and Alton High School. His final year of high school was at Fundamental Christian Academy in St. Louis, MO. Later, he worked various jobs including the logging industry and in the oil fields in Texas. Grant loved re-telling stories about his youth, his travels, and his family in particular. Some of his favorite memories were of fishing with his dad on the Eleven Point River. The family would also like to thank the staff at Kabul Nursing Home and Hospice in Cabool, MO for the exceptional kindness, care and patience extended to Grant during his stay there. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to extend their sympathy to do so with a donation to the Many Springs Cemetery in Many Springs, MO. A visitation and celebration of life service for family and friends will be held at 1 PM Sunday February 5, 2023 at Claryâ€™s Funeral Home in Alton, MO. Burial in the Many Springs Cemetery will follow.
