Ernest Eugene “Gene†Clary age 84, of Mtn. Grove, MO, was born February 24, 1937, passed away January 25, 2022, at his home. Survivors include: Daughters: Christy Wilson-Smith (Charlie), St. Peters, MO; Cindy Banner (John), Osage Beach, MO; Jeana Cunningham (Jimmy), Bois D’Arc, MO. Nine grandchildren: Andrew Gathright (Sarah), Nick Banner, Jessica Banner, Danelle Cunningham, Patrick Wilson (Kelsey), James Cunningham, Brandon Smith, Jessica Smith, Corey Smith, great-grandson: Cooper Gene Gathright and honorary daughter Joyce Gathright. The family would also like to acknowledge the Zach Pridemore family. Zach demonstrated what true friendship, loyalty, and faith exemplify. Preceding him in death: The love of his life, Sharon Odle; They were married April 5, 1957. His parents, Lyle and Josephine Clary; brother, J.Q. Clary, sister, Margaret Ann Gregory, and nephew Jim Clary. Gene attended Drury College and continued his education by graduating Summa Cum Laude from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He went into business with his brother J.Q., in 1959, operating the Clary Funeral Home, in Winona, MO. After spending 43 years in the funeral business, he retired in 1997 from Greenlawn Funeral Homes. Gene and Sharon moved to Mountain Grove, MO to retire on the Clary family farm. Gene loved Cardinals Baseball and anything Arkansas Razorback. He also loved singing and being with his family. Visitation will be held from 2-3pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Mtn. Grove, MO, services immediately following with internment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mtn. Grove. Officiating: Christy Wilson-Smith and Zach Pridemore.
