Doris Alene (Holland) Malone died on June 9, 2021 at Rock Point Nursing Center in Birch Tree, MO. She was 94 years old.

Doris was born on January 26, 1927 in Thomasville, MO to Cecil Wayne Holland and Lura Kilpatrick (Floyd) Holland.

On January 2, 1947 she married her high-school sweetheart, Claude Herman Malone. As a Navy family, they lived all over the world. After retirement they returned to Thomasville, MO in 1980. When their house in Thomasville was flooded in 2017, they moved to Alton, MO. They were embraced by the Alton community and have remained there since.

Doris was active in the local Methodist church. She was the church pianist in any church she attended and continued playing until recently. She instilled a love of music in all her children. She was an avid reader and quilter, and gave her quilts away to family, friends, and anyone in need.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dorothy Christine (Holland) McFry.

She is survived by her husband, her children Claudia Malone, Dorothy Waite (Bill), Michael Malone (Kim), and Patrick Malone (Barbara), along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, June 14, 2021 at the Alton United Methodist Church with Pastor Pamela Ekey officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity funding aid for cancer, arthritis or heart patients.
