Born the 9th and last child, Mary Lou (Prewitt) Osterbuhr was born on November 16, 1933, in Randolph County, AR, in the Ring Community. Her parents were Ivens Perry Prewitt and Mary Modena (James) Prewitt. She departed this life on August 12, 2023, at 89 years of age. She was united in marriage on July 30, 1965, to Jean Osterbuhr in Union County, NM, and to this marriage he brought 2 children, Denise, age 10, and Daniel, age 8. They lived in Liberal and Wichita, KS, and Denver, CO, before settling in Oregon County in 1978.

She is survived by: her daughter, Denise Masters and husband Richard of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Daniel Kelly, of Shawnee, KS, Stephanie Lindquist and husband Jesse, of Shawnee, KS, and Christa Lichtenaur and husband Joel of Olathe, KS; great-grandchildren, Cody McCloud and wife Jenae, Conner McCloud, Emma Avila, Lucy Lichtenaur, and Morgan Lindquist; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son, Daniel; her siblings, Elmer, Albert, and Perry Prewitt, Ethel Busch, Bertha Johnson, Edith Brown, Thelma Smotherman, and Iva Chloe Porter.

She graduated from Couch High School in 1952. Her career included working as a secretary/bookkeeper for many years. Later in life she worked in food service and health care. Mary Lou enjoyed piecing quilts, crocheting, woodworking, and making beautiful flower arrangements.

Mary Lou was a Christian and member of the Thayer Church of Christ. She will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services will be 10am Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. Erman Croney officiating, and burial following in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, MO.
